Technical Writing Careers
TECHNICAL WRITER (Contract):
Create, edit and maintain technical documentation (installation guide, administration guide, end-user guide, etc.). Manage technical writing process to complete projects within the required timeframe. Work closely with Product Team.
Required qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise software applications.
- Technical expertise in Linux, system administration, programming, or databases are desirable.
- Proven ability to research technical information from minimal written specifications.
- Proven ability to write conceptual, task-oriented, and reference information.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely using industry-accepted grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules.
- Ability to work in a collaborative group setting and with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Experience in analyzing product interfaces from a usability perspective in conjunction with the documentation workflow.
- Knowledge of Illustrator, Acrobat Pro and Photoshop, on-line help creation is a plus.
- 5+ years of technical writing experience.
- At least 2 year of experience authoring with Framemaker 8 or preferably 9.
- A degree in a related field such as English, Technical Communications, or Computer Science.
